This week is short and sweet! (Candy overload) Today we are having our Holiday party in the afternoon. Don't forget tomorrow the 5th grade classes are heading to local nursing homes to visit the residents. We will leave after lunch and be back around 2:30.
I hope you have a great Holiday break filled with family and friends. I will be enjoying the warm weather of Cozumel, Mexico. Bring on the sunshine!
Until next year...

Monday, December 14, 2015

Has anyone else been counting down the days until break? I know I am guilty of this. This week will be as normal as can be. We do have a spelling test later this week-make sure to practice those words! We will be displaying the "Holidays around the World" project on Friday from 9:30-11:30. If you are able to make it we would love to see you! The students are working in their groups and have determined what food they are going to bring in for others to sample. Please touch base with your child on what they are to bring-you can always call or email me if you have any questions.
***Looking into next week. We only have school Monday and Tuesday- Monday we will be having our Holiday party and Tuesday we are going to local nursing homes.
Here's to the last full week of school for 2015!!!

Today is the day!
Tonight we will be having our Native American Family Night. I cannot wait to see the completed projects! I hope many of you can make it tonight, even if it is for just a little bit. Students are to take their projects home tonight. (board and all)
We do have spelling this week so make sure to check out the spelling tab.
I hope to see you tonight!

Monday, November 30, 2015

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We are on to yet another project in Social Studies. In past years the 5th grade class has done the "Holidays Around the World" project and I will be taking that on this year.
Next Monday night is our display night for our Native American Tribe project. I hope to see many of you there as the students have worked so hard on it. Just a reminder that they need to bring everything to school next Monday to set up.
Today, there will be a slight change to our schedule as we are doing 5 switches instead of 4. Students will have an independent time where they can do homework, study island, practice spelling words and read.
It sounds like we will be getting some snow this week, so make sure your child has warm winter clothes. Have a great week!

Monday, November 23, 2015

Good morning!
We have short week this week due to Thanksgiving. We have a full day Wednesday while having Thursday and Friday off. There will be no spelling this week. We are finishing up our Native American project this week. Next week we are moving on to "Holidays Around the World".
I will be gone tomorrow (November 24) so there will be a substitute teacher. We will work on Gingerbread houses Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are able, please send some supplies to help decorate or donate your time to set up and decorate Gingerbread houses with the kids.
If you are wanting to order books from Scholastic in time for Christmas, orders are due Monday November 30. You can order online or send in the order form.
I hope you all have a great, family-filled Thanksgiving!

Good morning!
Today is the start of a new quarter. It is also our last full week in class to work on our Native American Projects. Students will get their board today or tomorrow and start to put their paragraphs and pictures on them. Just a reminder that students will need to build a replica of their tribe's house (done at home) and bring it in December 7th for American Indian family night! Let me know if you need supplies!
This Wednesday, we have early out! Students are dismissed at 12:50.
Remember to practice those spelling words at home!

Monday, November 2, 2015

Thank you for coming into conferences. It is always good to touch base with you! We have a pretty normal week this week. The spelling list is up; try to sneak in some time to study this week (I know this weekend is deer opener). In Social Studies, we are beginning to write our paragraphs for our Native American Tribe project. I talked with many of you about the model of the tribe's house the kids are supposed to work on at home. Please help your child as needed.
Just a heads up that next Friday, November 13 is the end of the quarter.

Happy Monday!
We have quite a few things going on this short week. We have conferences this week!! Make sure you have your child turn in the conference confirmation slip, so I know if you can make the scheduled time or not. The book fair is open this week, so when you are here for conferences be sure to stop by and check it out. Students will have a wish list filled out if you need any help deciding :). We will not be having a spelling test due to the short week. Make sure your kiddo is starting to construct their Native American tribe house at home. December 7th is the night to come check out all of their hard work. More information is going home tomorrow in Tuesday folders. I hope to see you all this week for conferences!

Monday, October 19, 2015

Conferences are next week; be looking for a conference confirmation slip to go home in Tuesday packets (tomorrow). Friday we will be having our Halloween party! How is it that time already.... Here's to a great week!

Just a reminder- We are going to be planning conference times, so please make sure you return the conference form with a requested time. We will do our best to fit your requested time and schedule siblings back to back.

Monday, October 5, 2015

I'm not sure how I feel about driving to work when it is still dark out.. I'm so not ready for winter yet. But it brings up a good reminder of making sure your kiddos have warm clothes as the weather changes.

As a class we are trying really hard to win the attendance trophy for the school; we were so close last week!

I think we all adapted to our new groups this last week and I look forward to see how it progesses!

We are halfway through our first quarter this Friday! :)

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Just a quick view of our week... Remember book orders are due Wednesday, September 30 (Tomorrow) so get those orders in! We switched up our groups starting this week, so your child will only be in their homeroom with their homeroom class to start and end the day. Remember to practice those spelling words! Let's have a great, short week!

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Just a little reminder- We have a spelling test tomorrow! Try to have your child practice some tonight!
Also, students have set a point goal for AR; they are expected to be at 30% of their goal by tomorrow. I have talked with your child about where they are at in regards to their goal.
