Pictures 2015-2016

Last day of school! Graduation day with these kiddos. I am really going to miss them!

We were able to play a couple of rounds of Boggle.

We had learned about Gristmills in Social Studies. When I was younger I helped my Grandma grind buckwheat into flour with this machine. The kids thought this process was pretty neat. (Buckwheat does not make great flour to make cookies-learned the hard way)

Making our room more Spring-like!

We played many rounds of Multiplication War. We made an entire tournament, where the winner of the tournament got to play me.

Here is the tournament bracket!
Making class shirts for Track and Field day!

We were learning about Venn Diagrams as we were preparing to compare and contrast the Thirteen Colonies.

Math Day!

This past week we each created a heart and students wrote a compliment on everyone's heart. You can see them at conferences! These kids are so nice to one another.

On Friday Mornings, we get together with Mrs. Klinke's first grade class for reading buddies.

Learning about Military time. Each student wrote down their daily schedule and then converted to military time.

Mega Party fun!

We had some time on Friday to play a few games. Racko was a favorite game of mine growing up, so of course I had to introduce it to the kiddos. They enjoyed playing it!
Below the kids are playing pick-up sticks-they found out it is a lot harder than they thought.
"I doubt it" was also a hit. These girls taught me how to play it!

We made Nutcracker placemats for local nursing homes.
The students are working so hard to finish up their Native American Projects. I can't wait to see how they all turn out!

We had a lot of fun making gingerbread houses. Thank you to those who donated items and came in to help with the organized chaos. :)

On Wednesday we decided we needed a little decoration added to our room. Students made positive/negative pumpkins. This was a tricky craft and they turned out so well!

Students learning to work cooperatively the first week of school.

Learning about Bernoulii's principle on Fly Friday.
