We will not be having a normal spelling list this week. We are getting ready for the Spelltacular. Mrs. Brown is giving the written test Tuesday and we will do our classroom spelldown on Friday the 15^th.  The following Friday we will have our 5^th grade spelldown. The top 2 spellers in the 5^th grade will then go on to compete with students from other schools.

In Social Studies, we are learning about Exploration of the Americas as well as technology at that time in History. We will be discussing what life was like before the Europeans came to the Americas.

The students are taking their OPLA reading test this week in Tech.

**Remember, we do NOT have school next Monday, January 18th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

**The end of the quarter is January 29.

**Book orders went home last week in Tuesday Packets. The due date is January 29.
